The American Red Cross Southwest Colorado Chapter closed its Weber Fire evacuee shelter today (Thursday) at 8 a.m. at the Cortez High School for the Weber Fire.
A service delivery site is now open at the Mancos Community Center, 117 N. Main St. A disaster mental health worker is at the site to talk with local residents about the psychological affects of an extended evacuation and the fire in their community. There will also be information about removing smoke smells from your residence and how to prepare for an active wildfire season. Drinks and snacks will also be provided at the center.
The shelter at Cortez High School will be available to be reopened immediately should the situation change and it becomes necessary to provide shelter to local residents.
