Saving energy

Doug Sparks gives Southwest Memorial Hospital CEO Kent Helwig a $5,200 rebate check for revamping lighting at the hospital. The hospital recently installed LED and high-efficiency fluorescent lighting throughout the main facility on Mildred Road. Work will begin soon to “go green” with new lighting for the parking lots and in other Cortez area buildings owned by the hospital. The Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association provides funding for rebates to be given for commercial lighting retrofit projects.
