Dave Sanford met with the town board Tuesday evening to offer coordination between the Chamber of Commerce and the town for annual clean-up week. Principal clean-up will be done on Saturday, April 28. Many Town board members and others offered to supply pickup trucks to help out.

Public Schools Week will be observed in Dolores this year with awards ceremony by the four area Masonic Lodges in a program set for Monday evening, April 23 at 8 p.m. in the all purpose room of the school.

Members of the Dolores River Garden Club attending the District Garden Club meeting held in Durango last Monday were Leona McCabe, Audrey Tycksen, Mary Baker, Mary Jane McRae, Sue Kelly and Lois Wooten. Leona McCabe was elected District Treasurer for next year's district meeting with the Cortez Garden Club as host. Deanna Truelsen also attended as District Director.

Attending Friendship night at Cortez Chapter No. 87 on Tuesday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Conder, Cecile Taylor, Lena Tibbits, Prudy McHenry, Charlotte Lincoln and Irene Lee. They all reported a very enjoyable evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Aryol Brumley and family were in Durango on Saturday for their daughter Cherie, to see her orthodontist and to help their nephew, Gene Mason, celebrate his birthday.

Loava Bartholomew was among those attending the wedding of Eddie Goodall and Helen Green in Cortez last Saturday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brenner and family spent the weekend in Nucla visiting at the home of Mrs. Brenners brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Baviere, Mrs. Evelyn Baviere of Paonia spent the weekend there also. The family celebrated an early Easter with a family get together.

Joy Raye Goode was expected to arrive on Thursday to spend the weekend visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Goode.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Porter entertained with a pinochle party in their home on Saturday evening. Enjoying the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Don McQuaid, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Steel, Helen Fogel and Mary Jane McRae.

Twelve Rainbow girls went to Mancos on Monday evening to attend Rainbow and bring home the traveling mascot they won at District. Ernie Berry and Charlotte Lincoln took them over.

Mary Akin entertained her bridge club last Thursday evening with Vaughna McClain winning high, Marge Welch winning low and Hazel Smith winning the galloper.

Mr. and Mrs. Chet Edwards from Trona, California were visiting with relatives in the area Thursday through Sunday. Mrs. Edwards is a sister of Callie Lofquist and Irene Lee of Dolores.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cline returned home last week after spending five weeks in Phoenix enjoying the sunshine.

Mildred Denby's sister, Eva Steermen, from Grand Junction, is visiting with the Denbys for a few days, then both Eva and Mildred will leave for Amarillo, Texas to visit with the Keene McGalliards.
