The letter from Linda J. Moore in the Thursday paper asks, Arent you glad your mother was pro-life? Im 71 years old, and at that time a woman had only two choices when she got pregnant, either have the child or use the coat hanger method to abort, which in many cases turned out to be fatal. If abortions had been legal in Mothers time, I hope, shed have been pro-choice, like me, because I would want her to make that important decision and not some government entity. However today, if abortions were made illegal, women with money simply fly off to Europe, have the procedure in a sterile and clean facility and then return home. Poor women would simply have to go back to the coat hanger method if they didnt want to through with the pregnancy. Is that what we really want? If anyone objects to having an abortion because of their religion, all I can say is, dont have one, but dont worry what other people do. You dont know what their circumstances are.
