4:40 p.m.: A woman was cited for unsafe backing after her car backed into a car parked at Dolores High School, at 14th St. and Railroad Ave., about 11 a.m. The driver of the parked car was standing outside her car during the impact, which knocked her to the ground, injuring her wrist.
Wednesday, June 15
7:18 p.m.: A dispute over a water headgate led to a brief altercation at a residence in the 13700 Colorado Highway 145, but both men agreed to talk with a water deputy and forgo charges.
9:47 a.m.: A man at Blue Door Traders, 23915 County Road G, reported that he saw thieves in two vans drive away the night before with an air compressor, an air tank, four tires and four tires with rims worth a total of $4,130. They reportedly entered the grounds by cutting a lock. Office surveillance equipment didn’t record the theft.
2:47 p.m.: A woman driving a Corvette said she backed into a pickup truck at the Giant gas station at 501 Railroad Ave. in Dolores. Both drivers were given an accident report form.
2:09 p.m.: As deputies worked on a vehicle-repossession case in the 13300 block of Colorado Highway 145, one woman was arrested on an active felony warrant and another was arrested on three active warrants.
9:33 p.m.: A driver in the 1300 block of E. Main St. of Cortez was pulled over because his SUV displayed a trailer license plate. He was cited for driving with a suspended license and warned about the license plate.
Thursday, June 16
6:46 p.m.: A woman reported a possible phone scam involving virus protection for her home computer, in the 12800 block of County Road 41.9. According to the woman, each time she paid the callers – a total of $405 – more pornography showed up on her computer.
11:28 p.m.: A man who said he was eating pizza while driving in the 8000 block of U.S. Highway 160 was cited for driving with a suspended license, driving without proof of insurance and failing to turn on his headlights.
Friday, June 17
12:19 a.m.: A woman was cited for theft after she allegedly stole a man’s $110.57 slot ticket when he left the machine in her care while buying her a soft drink at the Ute Mountain Casino.
12:46 a.m.: The Lewis-Arriola Fire Department extinguished a house fire in the 24800 block of County Road T in Dolores. A resident said he’d left a lighted cigarette on the kitchen counter.
Saturday, June 18
3:45 p.m.: Two deputies checking on a possible stolen firearm at a pawn shop in the 24099 block of County Road G.2 arrested a man on an active warrant.
7:45 p.m.: A woman reported that her chain saw worth $500 had been stolen after she left it unattended at a woodcutting site on Forest Road 559-C near Mancos.
Sunday, June 19
8:51 p.m.: A woman reported that her shed, located in the 23100 block of U.S. 491, had been broken into, but she didn’t know if anything was missing.
12:31 p.m.: A woman reported the theft of a floral flag, a table, lights and assorted shepherd hooks worth a total of $122. The items had been used for a wedding event the previous day at the Dolores Community Center, 400 Riverside Ave.
6:45 p.m.: A man was arrested on an active warrant in the 21800 block of County Road S.
Monday, June 20
10:24 a.m.: A man who was trimming trees at the Riverfront Bar and Grill in Dolores was arrested on an active warrant after a detective tipped off a deputy.
12:35 p.m.: A resident in the 27400 block of County Road T.5 reported that someone had broken into his home and flooded it while he was away this winter. He estimated that the damage totaled $500.
2:30 p.m.: An anonymous person dropped off keys that had been found about ½ mile east of Colorado 145 on Colorado 184.
10:42 p.m.: A male and female were cited for public indecency after a deputy discovered that they were fornicating in a parked car in the upper parking lot at Totten Lake, 10401 County Road 29. The deputy called for backup, and digital photos were taken into evidence.
Tuesday, June 21
1:14 p.m.: A man was arrested on an active warrant at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road.
10:26 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, harassment and domestic violence after he allegedly threw his girlfriend to the ground during a confrontation in the 34800 block of U.S. 160.
9:46 p.m.: A woman was cited for uncontrolled dogs after a neighbor in the 12900 block of U.S. 491 claimed that her Australian shepherds attacked his $2,000 English bulldog.
Wednesday, June 22
10:27 a.m.: A man reported that another man had backed into his truck at a residence in the 12900 block of County Road 32, but the deputy said he wouldn’t file charges because the collision had occurred two days before the report.
10:38 a.m.: A woman reported that $120 in damage to a window screen and two windows at a residence in the 12200 block of County Road 26, but the deputy didn’t find probable cause to arrest anyone.
6:37 a.m.: A woman living in the 21000 block of County Road N was cited for letting her pit bull run at large and causing injury after it killed a fawn. A German shepherd reportedly got away.
Friday, June 24
9 a.m.: A woman was arrested on an active warrant at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road.
10:50 a.m.: A woman is wanted for allegedly writing six bad checks totaling $1,252.72 at the IFA Country Store in the 10500 block of U.S. 491.
10:20 p.m.: A woman was cited for violating Montezuma County’s ban on open fires at Narraguinnep Reservoir boat ramp, in the 23000 block of Colorado Highway 184.
Saturday, June 25
12:28 a.m.: A man was cited for providing false information after deputies responded to a complaint about his friend, a woman, who reportedly had been using drugs. The man and woman were given no-trespass orders.
2:04 p.m.: A man was arrested and cited for eluding an officer after running several stop signs and driving more than 95 mph in a pursuit that began near the 8000 block of County Road 27 and continued on County Roads H and G. He was arrested on foot after his footprint matched one left outside the abandoned car at 25120 Road F.
12:00 a.m.: A man and a woman were given accident reports after the man said that he backed his pickup truck into the woman’s car at a residence in the 17800 block of County Road S.7.
Sunday, June 26
8:02 a.m.: A man who lives in the 28100 block of County Road H reported that he had been the victim of identity theft after someone opened credit accounts in his name.
9:59 a.m.: A man faces a summons for an uncontrolled dog after residents complained about an aggressive dog in the 12200 and 12400 blocks of County Road 22.
2:01 p.m.: A man found at a residence in the 1300 block of Railroad Ave. in Dolores was cited for failing to give information about damaging another vehicle and failing to notify police about an accident after he allegedly backed into and tipped over a motorcycle parked at the Riverfront Bar and Grill in Dolores.
4:35 p.m.: Two men were arrested on suspicion of stealing a screw gun from a worker at The Depot, 520 Railroad Ave. in Dolores. They fled in a car, but were caught during a traffic stop. One man was jailed because of an active warrant; the other was released.
6 p.m.: A man accused a male employee of stealing a drill while working on a trailer in the 30600 block of Colorado Highway 184. A deputy plans to follow up on the case after he has a serial number for the drill.

8:04 a.m.: A man was arrested on a La Plata County warrant at Cedar Diagnostics, in the 1000 block of N. Mildred Road.
