Thank you to the Dolores Town Playground Committee past and present for bringing the community’s vision of the playground into reality;
To the Playground Group for fundraising and communications;
To GOCO for awarding generous grant funding for the new playground;
To Kaboom! For awarding generous grant funding for the toddler playground;
To the contractors who donated their time and equipment for surveying, posthole drilling and concrete installation;
To the equipment vendors who donated heavy equipment for use;
To the over 100 Volunteers who happily served where they were needed;
To the 15 dedicated skilled carpenters and builders who saw to it the playground was built in the time and manner as planned;
To the playground coordinators who donated tens of hours of their time to fundraise, to gather the necessary tools, to manage the volunteers, to manage the food donations, to manage the acquisition of materials and to manage the communications.
To the support staff who made sure all were healthy to participate and had safety equipment to wear, supervised hand washing/sanitizing, sunscreen use and supplied drinks and snacks;
To the tireless food servers who stood in all sorts of weather to serve the hungry workers;
To the restaurant and food vendors who donated delicious meals each day for breakfast lunch and dinner;
To the town employees who coordinated the volunteer craftsmen, tools, and equipment and operated equipment, constructed the playground and cleaned up and prepared the playground for use.
Finally to the Play By Design team for their professional leadership, their patience and willingness to teach anyone a new skill and for seeing the structure completed.
