6:36 p.m. A deputy trained as a drug-recognition expert was called to Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, by the Colorado State Patrol to render an opinion about whether a driver who had been stopped for speeding was under the influence of marijuana. The driver smelled of marijuana and admitted to smoking it before the traffic stop. After conducting several physical tests, the deputy reported to the CSP trooper that his conclusion was that the driver was under the influence of marijuana.
Tuesday, July 2
5:17 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of South Fifth Avenue in Dolores to issue a warrant for failure to comply to a woman. The woman was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
Wednesday, July 3
11 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Detention Center to issue two warrants to a female inmate.
11:16 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to the Montezuma County Detention Center to issue two outstanding warrants to a male inmate.
12:26 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to the Montezuma County Detention Center to issue an outstanding warrant to a male inmate.
5:45 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 6600 block of County Road 24 about a brush fire. The fire appeared to have started in cotton from cottonwoods and dried weeds near a charcoal grill. A man was issued a summons for fourth degree arson.
Thursday, July 4
11:44 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of Riverside Avenue in Dolores concerning a violation of a protection order. The deputy attempted to contact the suspect, but he was paddle boarding on McPhee Reservoir and couldn’t be contacted.
1:13 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 27300 block of Forest Road 271, near McPhee Reservoir, about a possible theft. A man reported several bladders from a boat.
Friday, July 5
5:56 p.m. A deputy observed a red Chevrolet Blazer that failed to make a complete stop at a stop sign at 11th Street and Railroad Avenue in Dolores. The woman who was driving and a man who was a passenger were both arrested on outstanding warrants. Several open containers of marijuana were discovered in the vehicle. Both the man and the woman were arrested for outstanding warrants, and they were left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.
6:51 p.m. A deputy was patrolling in the area of B Street and Railroad Avenue in Dolores and stopped a driver of a four-wheeler on Central Avenue. The deputy issued a summons to the driver for operating the vehicle on a suspended license.
Sunday, July 7
6:11 p.m. A deputy took a report of a stolen firearm from a pickup truck in the House Creek Campground in the 28000 block of U.S. Forest Service Road 528.
Monday, July 8
7:52 p.m. A deputy was called to the 24000 block of Road G.2 about a vandalism call. A woman said she reported a man had been throwing bottles at her Jeep and one of the bottles damaged the hood. The deputy took pieces of glass as evidence, and a few of the pieces provided good fingerprints.
8:03 p.m. A deputy stopped a semitrailer whose driver was speeding through a construction zone in the 32000 block of U.S. Highway 160. The man who was driving the semitrailer was issued a summons for a nonextraditable warrant out of California.
