Unlike in many areas throughout the country, dark skies still rule the night in the Four Corners region making it ideal for star gazing.
Come out to Mancos State Park, 9 p.m. on June 29 to learn about stars and the night sky. The "star party" is sponsored by Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the Mancos Public Library and the Four Corners Stargazers. Bring a flashlight, binoculars if possible, and some warm clothes.
The park entry fee will be waived for the evening event, which will be held only if skies are clear
Mancos State Park is located about five miles north of Mancos. Camping is available at the park and reservations are recommended. For more information, call the park at 533-7065 or the library at 533-7600.
