While I agree with your editorial ("Driving stoned," Feb. 28), there is another issue that has not really been looked at even as far back as last year before the election and passing the marijuana law.
A large number of companies in America have a drug and alcohol policy for employment. Some also have a random testing policy. There are also some other areas that pertain to your job. If you operate a specific type of machinery and could have a serious industrial accident, a drug and alcohol test would be performed after the accident to determine the root cause.
What a lot of people do not understand is when you own a company, you have to carry specific insurance to cover your employees. I don't know how some people use drugs and are still able to work. So there are a lot of other areas that are involved besides driving.
