Tuesday, Dec. 4
6:37 p.m.: Three men who allegedly were vandalizing the bathroom at City Market, at 508 E. Main St. One of the suspects ran from police officers and was seriously injured when he struck the side of a black SUV on Main St. One of the other vandals ran from police and attempted to fight an officer. The officer struck the vandal with his right knee and handcuffed him. The man had in his possession a half-empty bottle of Kroger Antiseptic Mouth Rinse, at 26.9 percent alcohol. He was booked into Montezuma County Detention Center, at 730 E. Driscoll St., and cited for trespass and interfering with an audience.
Wednesday, Dec. 5
12:21 p.m.: A vehicle allegedly failed to stop a red light at the intersection of E. Main St. and N. Harrison St., causing a collision with another vehicle.
1:39 p.m.: A vehicle allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign at N. Roger Smith Ave. and E. Montezuma Ave., causing a collision with another vehicle.
2:36 p.m.: An officer responded to a theft complaint on the 100 block of E. Main St. A man stated that Veteran’s Affairs had issued him a heart monitor valued at $100. He set it down on his desk and later in the day, it was missing.
4:20 p.m.: An officer served a warrant to a male inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
Thursday, Dec. 6
12:19 p.m.: An officer initiated a traffic stop for a defective brake light on the 1300 block of Mesa Verde St. When the driver pulled over, a male passenger ran into a nearby home. The driver was issued a summons for driving on a suspended license and driving with a defective brake light. An officer contacted the homeowner and found the man who ran from the car hiding in a bathroom. He was arrested on three active warrants.
3:08 p.m.: A woman was arrested on the 200 block of N. Park St. for violating a protection order prohibiting her from drinking. The woman said she put Skittles in a 375 ml bottle of Taaka vodka to make it taste better.
3:08 p.m.: An officer responded to a report of domestic violence on the 500 block of S. Cedar St., but upon hearing conflicting stories from two women involved, there were no charges filed. One of the woman attempted to drive a white Chevy Qatar out of a driveway and was arrested for DUI alcohol.
5:54 p.m.: A woman flagged down an officer outside of Montezuma County Detention Center, at 730 E. Driscoll St., and reported that she picked up a hitchhiker who would not exit her vehicle. The man was intoxicated and asleep. Once he woke up, he was placed in handcuffs and taken to the jail.
10:16 p.m.: An officer stopped a blue Chrysler 300 on the 800 block of N. Mildred Road. MCSO deputies were trying to locate the vehicle. Five pills of Clonazepam and a box with baggies and syringes were found in the vehicle. One of the women was arrested for unlawful possession of schedule II and IV controlled substances, operating a vehicle without insurance and displaying expired number plates.
Friday, Dec. 7
10:19 a.m.: A man on the 900 block of S. Cedar St. was cited for failing to register his dogs. A neighbor had complained about the welfare of dogs kept outside in a small pen during inclement weather.
11:49 a.m.: A man at the Sand Canyon National 9 Inn, at 301 W. Main St., was served a warrant out of La Plata County and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, at 730 E. Driscoll St.
1:13 p.m.: A man driving a black Ford pickup backed into a red Mazda sedan on the 500 block of N. Park St. The driver of the pickup was cited for unsafe backing and operating an uninsured vehicle.
2:29 p.m.: A man on the 500 block of N. Ash St. called to report fraud. He stated he received a phone call informing him he won a large sum of money. He hung up but then received more calls about winning money and he was told he had to send money for lawyer fees. He mailed $308 and two cell phones totaling $539 to an address in Connecticut. He attempted to wire $200, but Western Union flagged the payment as fraud. A police officer attempted to contact the Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Office and East Windsor Police Department in Connecticut. He received the number for the woman who contacted the man but has not been able to contact her.
4:46 p.m.: A female was released from Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and then issued a warrant for failure to comply out of New Mexico. She was taken back to jail.
5:35 p.m.: A man who called to report a drunken driver on the 1500 block of S. Broadway was arrested on a warrant. He was taken to Montezuma County Detention Center, at 730 E. Driscoll St. Upon booking, he had a BAC of .137.
9:09 p.m.: A man was arrested for DUI alcohol on the 400 block of S. Chestnut St. He was cited for driving without insurance, driving without a license and displaying expired number plates.
10:12 p.m.: A man was issued a municipal citation for trespassing at Front Row Seat, at 610 E. Main St., where he was previously trespassed indefinitely.
Saturday, Dec. 8
12:28 p.m.: A woman called to report alarming messages from her cousin, who had an active warrant and was possibly leaving the state with a man. Officers located the woman at the Travelodge by Wyndham Cortez and took her to Montezuma County Detention Center for a failure to appear warrant. On the ride to the jail, she told an officer that it was a relief she got picked up so she could get this behind her.
11:45 a.m.: A woman turned herself in to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on two warrants – for failure to appear and dangerous drugs.
1:16 p.m.: The driver of a 2006 Ford Expedition and the driver of a 2016 Toyota Rav 4 backed out of parking spaces simultaneously at City Market, at 508 E. Main St., and collided. One driver was cited for driving without insurance. Neither was cited for the collision, since neither driver saw the other driver backing out.
1:23 p.m.: A driver backed out of a private driveway on the 400 block of W. Main St. and collided with a vehicle stopped at a red light.
Monday, Dec. 9
12;02 a.m.: The driver of a white Cadillac Escalade allegedly made several lane changes without signaling. An officer pulled the vehicle over and found the driver was a habitual traffic offender. The driver was transported to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and cited for failure to use a turn signal, driving with a defective brake lamp and driving without a license.
10:09 p.m.: An officer initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle accelerate aggressively from a stop on the 1000 block of E. Main St. A can of Modelo beer was visible in the front passenger seat. An officer asked the male driver if he would do roadside sobriety tests to which the driver responded he did not want to be late for work. An officer then volunteered to contact the man’s employer, and the driver performed the sobriety tests. He failed the tests and blew 0.132 BAC. He was issued a summons for DUI and his father picked him up from the police station.
Tuesday, Dec. 10
9:33 a.m.: A vehicle was stopped at a stop at the intersection of N. Washington St. and E. Montezuma Ave. and then proceeded through the intersection. The vehicle struck a westbound vehicle on Montezuma Ave. Both vehicles were not able to drive.
1:39 p.m.: A man in custody at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a felony arrest warrant.
5:35 p.m.: An officer observed two men who appeared ready to fight by the bathrooms at City Park, at 20 N. Park St. As the officer approached, one of the men began to run away. The man who didn’t run told the officer the other man ran because he has a warrant. The officer contacted that man and arrested him for violating a protection order, which states he cannot consume alcohol.
Wednesday, Dec. 11
9:53 a.m.: A woman was served a warrant at a residence on the 800 block of N. Mildred Road. The woman had an IV in her arm for blood transfusions over the next six weeks. She was not handcuffed due to the IV, but was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
12:00 p.m.: A woman at Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., was arrested for violating a protection order stating she cannot consume alcohol.
2:53 p.m.: A man called to report a hit-and-run on his red Chevrolet pickup on the 100 block of W. First St. He stated his car was parked throughout the morning and afternoon and when he returned there was damage to the rear bumper and tailgate. There were no suspects.
6:37 p.m.: An intoxicated man at City Market, at 508 E. Main St., was arrested for violating bail conditions stating he cannot consume alcohol.
8:27 p.m.: A man driving a small tan sedan was pulled over for a defective brake light on the 100 block of E. Fifth St. He was arrested for driving without a license and driving with a defective brake light.
