Group would help increase artistic opportunities

The Cortez Public Arts Advisory Board hopes to hear from residents who are involved in the arts or attend school for the arts to create a coalition of creatives in the county.

The board wants input from artists, musicians and performers to “facilitate artistic collaboration and push opportunities (grants, residencies or community art projects)” to other creatives in the area.

They ask interested people to complete a brief survey, titled Montezuma Valley Creatives. It is presented by the Cortez Public Arts Advisory Committee and Cortez Creative Alliance.

The survey contains six questions. The first asks if the survey respondent is artistic and expresses creativity in fine arts, crafts, music, performance, theatre, film or culinary arts.

The second asks if the respondent is from Cortez, Montezuma County or outside the county.

The remaining questions ask what the respondent’s medium is, if they would be interested in “joining a coalition of like-minded creatives. The final two questions are optional – the respondent’s name and contact information.
