Cortez Elks lodge plans Autumn Fest

The Cortez Elks Lodge is making plans for its Autumn Fest on Oct. 15 at the Elks Lodge, 2100 N. Dolores Road.

The event will be 1-5 p.m. and is open to the public. The event will feature a pumpkin-decorating contest as well as games and food. Decorated pumpkins must be brought to the lodge from 1-2 p.m.

There will be three age groups and two divisions. Division 1 will be carved pumpkins, and Division 2 will be decorated pumpkins. Prizes will be awarded at 4 p.m. Food will feature Cat Tails, Scarecrow Wonder, Spider Web Clouds and Halloweenie Dogs. Games will include a bean bag toss, balloon dart, spinning wheel. A child ID booth will also be available.

Clubs interested in promoting their group can by volunteering to have or man a booth may contact Lynn, event chairman at 970-565-7423. Volunteers to man the booths are also needed.
