After Hope’s Kitchen’s continuous support to help feed residents over the past 23 years, the First United Methodist Church of Cortez will host a fundraiser to bolster the organization’s free meal program through community outreach.

The fundraiser will take place Nov. 11 from 4-6 p.m. The First United Methodist Church of Cortez is located at 515 N. Park St.

According to a news release, run solely by volunteers and donations, Hope’s Kitchen has served more than 12,000 meals every year for a diverse population of people from “all walks of life.”

For two hours, the donation based fundraiser includes a supper consisting of chili, soup and cornbread.

On top of nourishing bellies, a dessert auction will take place and music by Zeke Isaacs and friends will be played while a silent auction (with stained glass, quilts and art) occurs.

Children’s activities will be supplied at the fundraiser’s Kids’ Corner.

Pastor Jean Schwien invites residents to attend the fundraiser in order to continue supporting Hope’s Kitchen.
