Sunday, July 16

6:15 p.m. Two men were cited with assault after allegedly starting a fight with a third man while in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Saturday, July 22

6:12 a.m. A man at the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, 730 E. Driscoll St., was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order.

9:14 p.m. A woman allegedly took a phone from a bench in front of High County Relief, 102 Railroad Ave. in Dolores. The phone belonged to an employee of the store who did not notice her phone was gone until the end of her shift. The woman was arrested on a warrant and on suspicion of theft.

Tuesday, July 25

9:07 a.m. A man at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on a warrant.

10:53 a.m. A man using a propane weed burner at his residence in the 7299 block of Road 25.4 was cited with violating a county fire ban.

11:07 a.m. A man at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:29 p.m. A man riding in a car with his mother in the 7000 block of Road 27 reportedly tried to exit the car while it was going 40 mph. The mother tried stopping him from getting out, and he threatened her with a 3-inch pocket knife. The man was arrested on suspicion of menacing.

Wednesday, July 26

7:14 a.m. A man driving an estimated 81 mph in a 65 mph zone in the 12000 block of Colorado Highway 145 was cited with speeding, displaying expired plates and failing to provide insurance.

9:03 a.m. An officer served two men in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., with one warrant each.

3:13 p.m. An officer responded to a call of a unconscious and unresponsive woman in the 19300 block of Road 22 and arrived after EMS and fire crews. The woman was responsive. The woman and her boyfriend asked the officer to dispose of all drug paraphernalia in the residence. Items including eight pipes, three pill containers, a needle and six pieces of burned tin foil were collected and submitted to be destroyed.

Thursday, July 27

9:58 a.m. A man driving in the 27000 block of Road H was measured going 63 mph in a 40 mph zone. The officer followed the man at 95 mph to catch up after the man turned northbound onto Road 27. The man was pulled over at Hawkins Street and North Dolores Road and cited with speeding and reckless driving.

10:13 a.m. A woman turned herself over to the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a warrant.

2:16 p.m. A complaint of a man dumping hazardous materials into McPhee Lake on a daily basis was made to the National Response Center. An officer reviewed the complaint and referred the complaint to the U.S. Forest Service ranger in charge of recreation facilities in the Dolores District.

Friday, July 28

9:42 p.m. An officer assisted Colorado State Patrol with a crash investigation. The driver and passenger were arrested by CSP.
