Thank you for making the Christmas dinner special

As we welcome in the New Year, we’d like to recognize and thank those that helped make this year’s Community Christmas Dinner a success: Cortez Cultural Center volunteers for fielding questions, signing up volunteers, and taking orders for deliveries, Montezuma County and the staff at Senior Services for their help and the use of the Annex, along with RE-1 for the use of the their warehouse and refrigerators to store food.

Denise Westbrook and Richard Talbot of Come Dance Tonight provided holiday music at the last minute. Community members donated home-made desserts, and Walmart, City Market, and Sysco discounted food. The MCHS FFA provided assorted citrus fruits that graced the tables along with beautiful poinsettias provided by Cliffrose and Four Seasons.

Spruce Tree Expresso provided coffee, and Slaven’s loaned us coffee urns. Monetary donations were made by a number of community service organizations as well as many private individuals, and for this we are most grateful.

Donations can be made throughout the year to the Annual Christmas Dinner Account at Vectra Bank and Four Corners Community Bank. And, of course, a big THANK YOU to all those folks who came to the Annex on Christmas Day and demonstrated the true meaning of this holiday by preparing and serving a holiday meal to members of our community.
