San Juan College will host a West African drumming ensemble performance from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Connie Gotsch Theatre, 4601 College Blvd.
Dr. Teun Fetz, assistant professor of music, will lead the African Drumming group, featuring Male Fainke, in a performance featuring music from Guinea, Mali and areas of West Africa including Denadon, Dibon, Djaa, Djabara, Djagbe and Donaba.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and free for children 12 years old and younger. Tickets are available online, at the SJC bookstore and at the door.
Join Farmington Museum for its next History Hike to Twin Falls Trail. The bus will leave the museum at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 15. Hikers should meet at the museum, 3041 E. Main St., prior to 8 a.m.
The 6-mile trail is located near Teec Nos Pos, Arizona and is rated moderate. Pack plenty of water, sunscreen, a hat and appropriate shoes.
The hike is available to hikers 16 years old and older. A sack lunch is included in the fee.

Nationally touring comics Mark Riccadonna and Tom Briscoe will make a stop in Farmington for the Two Guys Comedy Show at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Farmington Civic Center, 200 W. Arrington St.
Riccadonna and Briscoe are known for their quick wit, timing and rapport drawn from decades of comedy, show business and friendship.
Riccadonna recently starred in a lead role in the feature film “Days of Power,” and is a contributing writer for Saturday Night Live. Briscoe left a career in corporate sales to pursue comedy. He now headlines major clubs, resorts and casinos nationwide.

Albuquerque poet Samuel Galbraith will host a reading from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at Amy’s Bookcase, 2530 San Juan Blvd.
At only 16 years old, Galbraith has made his entrance to the arts community with his debut book “Mismatched Perceptions.” He will discuss his work, read a selection of his poetry and sign books as part of Amy’s celebration of National Poetry Month. Copies of his book will be available for purchase during the event.

ZD Cattle will host the Rope for Big Bucks Classic Friday and Saturday, April 14 and 15, at McGee Park, 41 County Road 5568.
Two arenas will feature roping, rain or shine. Friday events include Masters Saddle Roping at 4 p.m., followed by the No. 11 Slide Cash Roping competition at 6 p.m.
Saturday events begin early, with the No. 10.5 kicking off at 10 a.m. The No. 8.5 Cash Roping will begin at 1 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners.
