It seems there’s a lot of debate and criticism lately about being “woke.”
According to the Oxford languages, the word “woke” is the past (tense) of “wake,” a verb. “Emerge or cause to emerge from a state of sleep, stop sleeping,” also listed by the Oxford dictionary as a definition of woke as an adjective, “alert to and concerned about social injustice.”
What I don’t get is, what’s wrong with being aware, empathetic and inclusive? Where and when did we lose the capacity for basic human behavior?
