3:25 p.m. A man reported that someone smashed a rear window of his 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, parked at a residence in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160.
10:01 p.m. A deputy investigated a hit-and-run report at the Softball Complex, 24300 County Road G.2 but could not locate a possible suspect. The damaged vehicle was a 2000 Ford Mustang.
9:26 p.m. A patient at Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, reported that his father threw an automobile’s drum brake at his face, causing a 4-inch laceration and leaving evidence of blood on his face, neck and chest. The patient was armed with a bate during the dispute, but did not say whether he struck anyone. He said he did not want to press charges against his father.
10:49 p.m.: A woman was driving on the 6800 block of U.S. Highway 160 with seven unsecured people in a pickup truck’s bed. She was pulled over and issued summons for driving while her license was under restraint.
11:05 p.m. A woman was reported in a residence that was not hers. She had insisted she was there for a Airbnb stay. She left, and an officer found her around the intersection of Road 43 and U.S. Highway 160. She was pulled over and arrested on suspicion of DUI.
11:24 p.m.: Two people got into an argument and one was reported to have hit the other in the face with a hammer. The person who was hit was not present when officers arrived at the location, near Forest Service Road 566. The reported attacker was tased by an officer and cited for obstruction. About three hours later, they were called back to the seen when it was reported the man was attacking the person again. They arrived and tased him again and arrested him for suspicion of menacing, second-degree assault, resisting arrest and obstruction.
3:35 p.m.: A man left his keys in his truck while he went out hunting in the Boggy Draw area on Sunday, Sept. 4, and it was stolen. The OnStar gave the officer the location of the truck on Upper House Creek Road, and it was found with significant damage.
5:52 p.m.: An intoxicated woman was found in the area of Parque De Vida without any pants or underwear. She was questioned and offered a ride home. When home, she requested medical services. The EMS arrived, and there was a struggle. The woman was given sedation and taken to the Southwest Memorial Hospital.
8:59 p.m.: Two dogs were shot and killed on the 2600 block of U.S. Highway 491. There was a gunshot heard around 8:30 p.m., but no specific person has been identified as suspect.
5:11 p.m.: A woman was reported missing after she had left on a 3-mile hike and had not returned after an appropriate time. Search and rescue crews sent to Bear Creek trail found her a half-mile up the trail as she was on her way back. A wrong turn had extended her hike by 7 miles, and she was unable to alert anyone to her delay.
1:24 p.m. A man called the Sheriff’s Office to report that a home he inherited in Tucson, Arizona, had fraudulently been used as collateral in several loans.
6:47 p.m. Two people were served warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center for possible charges including indecent exposure, vehicular eluding, felony menacing, DUI and child abuse.
12:13 p.m.: A car and a deer collided on the 30000 block of Colorado Highway 184. After an officer inspected the vehicle, the driver drove a short distance alongside the officer to confirm its function. The vehicle was damaged but was believed to be able to get the driver home.
3:58 p.m.: A man removed a woman from a car after an argument. The officer questioned her and provided a courtesy ride.
7:14 p.m. A man was served four warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
3:21 p.m.: A car reported drove recklessly and was later seen by an officer speeding on the 41000 block of U.S. Highway 160. The driver had no license and was issued summons for it and also for speeding.
3:05 p.m. An officer responded to a fight in progress call for the Cortez police. When arrived at the 200 block of North Park Street the officer separated two people engaged in the fight. The officer then passed the issue off to the Cortez police when they arrived
10:42 a.m.: A man reported that a hired carpenter had not returned six power tools – four grinders and two saws valued at $1,200.
8:23 a.m. A blue Jeep that blocked County Road 30 in Dolores was towed after the owner could not be reached. The Jeep apparently had run out of gasoline.
9:11 a.m. The Cortez Fire Protection District controlled a small, planned burn that had been reported after an explosion in the 25000 block of County Road P. Apparently, the burn pile contained a few tires.
