We always enjoy going to the county fair in Cortez to see the animals on display. This year, we were even more impressed by the young girls and boys who had raised them. We were consistently met with smiles, handshakes and self-introductions by the young participants who knew how to maintain eye contact and have an adult conversation.
They were all polite and engaged as they answered our questions. They showed great knowledge about and compassion for the animals they had lovingly raised. We left with a wonderful feeling of hope for this future generation. Great job to you all, and kudos to 4-H and the families who raise such wonderful children.
