I’m proud of Congresswoman Lauren Boebert for her unwavering support of our Second Amendment rights. Boebert is correct that it is our constitutional right to keep and bear arms and that right is non-negotiable. She is also correct in calling out U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell, who desperately failed to try to compare her support of gun rights to the evil that was displayed by the recent gun shooting in Illinois.
Readers would be wise to recognize that imposing gun restrictions on law-abiding citizens only serves to make it easier for law-breaking criminals to inflict harm as they see fit. As Boebert rightly pointed out, “gun-free” zones have proven to be deadly. Mass shootings are undoubtedly a tragedy. Restricting our gun rights would do nothing to solve the problem and in many cases may make things worse.
