Thursday, June 2

9:56 a.m. A man was cited for second-degree burglary after surveillance showed him stealing beer from City Market, 508 E. Main St.

11:23 a.m. A man was arrested on a outstanding warrant in the east 100 block of Fifth Street.

3:51 p.m. An intoxicated man was arrested after allegedly harassing people at City Park, 830 E. Main St., where he was trespassed from twice that day. The man reportedly resisted arrest and obstructed a peace officer while being taken into custody. He was also in violation of a protection order banning him from possessing and consuming alcohol.

10:16 p.m. An intoxicated man was reportedly combative with police while being taken into custody for obstructing a highway in the west 300 block of Main Street.

10:36 p.m. A man threw two large rocks at a car at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. An officer identified the man from photographs provided by a Walmart security officer.

Friday, June 3

12:27 p.m. An intoxicated man was issued a trespass notice from Super 8, 505 E. Main St., after he banged on a piano and refused to leave.

1:23 p.m. A house fire occurred in the east 800 block of Third Street. An officer determined that the fire was caused by an electrical box, and no charges were pursued.

7:05 p.m. A woman was cited for false reporting after witnesses contradicted her report that her boyfriend was trying to attack her with a knife in the lower 100 block of South Harrison St.

9:56 p.m. A man was cited for theft and possessing alcohol in the park after he was reportedly drinking hand sanitizer that he took from a portable toilet at the Duck Pond, 515 N. Mildred Road.

10:45 p.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant in the 100 block of North Park Street.

Saturday, June 4

4:26 p.m. An officer observed an RV damage the side rearview mirror of a car as it drove by in the lower 100 block of West Main Street. The officer was unable to contact the driver of the RV.

8:10 p.m. A man was arrested after a woman reported that he violated a protection order by trying to contact her at her residence in the east 200 block of Fourth Street.

Sunday, June 5

3:58 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant and cited for trespassing after he trespassed at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

8:42 p.m. An intoxicated woman was taken into custody n the 400 block of South Maple Street for violating a protection order banning her from drinking.

11:59 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Monday, June 6

1:02 p.m. A man reported that a necklace was stolen from his store in the 2500 block of East Main Street. There were no leads or suspects.

1:19 p.m. A woman reported that her son’s bike was stolen near Family Dollar, 324 S. Broadway. There were no leads or suspects.

3:17 p.m. A man returned a purse that woman reported as stolen to police in the City Market parking lot, 508 E. Main St.

8:34 p.m. A man reported that someone stole his dog from his residence in the 300 block of North Ash Street.

8:45 p.m. A car fire occurred in the parking lot of Rock Springs Community Church, 601 N. Dolores Road.

Tuesday, June 7

7:41 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant near Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

9:07 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant in the 700 block of South Broadway.

10:18 a.m. A man and a woman were cited for indecent exposure and having alcohol in the park after an officer observed them commit sexual acts in a sleeping bag at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St. The pair were trespassed from all city parks for three weeks.

2:56 p.m. A man reported at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., that his bike’s license plate was missing.

3:32 p.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at the District Attorney’s Office, 109 W. Main St.

6:18 p.m. A car crash occurred in the 500 block of East Main Street. No citations were issued.

Wednesday, June 8

12:15 a.m. A man was arrested on outstanding warrants at Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road.

7:29 p.m. A woman was arrested after threatening a woman with a metal object in the lower 100 block of South Harrison Street.
