Erasing the chilly and frigid feel
from morning air
Embracing the warmer days
and bidding adieu to the trees standing bare;
Placing seeds in the warming soil,
Then covering them with care.
Thank God for April!
Did you savor the first bursts of color
from the blooming crocus
And share a dance with the daffodils
willing as ever in this season?
Lingering flavors and scents of Spring bringing
forth a looming focus
Of beauty and joy beyond the hills
Filling singing birds with more reason.
Facing lengthening days
dawning summer anew
Chasing frogs and critters
under the sky so blue;
Tracing outlines of clouds
with loving thoughts of you.
Thank God for April!
