Sunday, Nov. 7

3:57 p.m. A woman reported that someone broke into and stole from a school bus she was using to store some items in the 7500 block of U.S. Highway 160. There were no leads.

Wednesday, Nov. 10

5:19 p.m. A woman reported that her husband noticed the front door of their property open as he drove by it. A deputy cleared the property and reported that it seemed like someone had been looking for something specific. There were no leads.

Thursday, Dec. 2

4:25 p.m. A deputy issued an arrest warrant for a man who failed to register as a sex offender at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, Dec. 3

2:06 p.m. A property owner reported that he pulled his gun on unknown man who refused to leave his front porch in the 25900 block of County Road G. After the gun was drawn, the man fled the porch toward the back of the property. Deputies met with the property owner, who used his drone to assist them in locating the man. Deputies determined that the man was hallucinating. He tried to run from deputies until they threatened to use their Tasers on him. He was taken into custody and issued a summons for resisting arrest.

4:07 p.m. A man suspected in a hit-and-run was pulled over in the 27900 block of Colorado Highway 184. A deputy determined that the man was drunk. Cortez Dispatch informed the deputy that the man had five active arrest warrants and a protection order prohibiting him from possessing of consuming alcohol. He was taken into custody and issued summons for drinking and driving, having an open alcoholic beverage in the car and violating a protection order.

Saturday, Dec. 4

12:23 p.m. A woman resisted arrest on an outstanding warrant after she was reported for wandering around in the road in the 22300 block of Road L. She was taken into custody and issued summons for second-degree assault and resisting arrest.

Monday, Dec. 6

5:02 p.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in the 6600 block of Road 24.2.

8:01 p.m. In the 32400 block of County Road R, a man reported that someone broke windows on four cars parked at his business, causing $1,800 in damage. He stated that he trusted his employees. There were no leads.

11:42 p.m. A man reported that his vehicle was stolen from the 30100 block of County Road H. A deputy entered the apparent stolen car into a tracking system.

Tuesday, Dec. 7

12:42 p.m. A man resisted arrest after he was reported for using a baseball bat to break car windows in the 32400 block of County Road R. He was taken into custody and issued summons for property damage and crimes against persons.

3:04 p.m. A trooper gave a deputy a wallet he found in the 1000 block of U.S. Highway 160. The deputy contacted the owner of the wallet and told her how to arrange to pick it up.

5:33 p.m. A man was taken into custody on six outstanding warrants at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

7:56 p.m. A deputy performed a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Oak Street after he confirmed that the driver’s car was not registered. Cortez Police were following the man on reports of domestic violence. They took him into custody.

11:31 p.m. A man was pulled over for a curfew violation in the lower 100 block of East Mike Wash Road. The man had an evoked license, expired registration, and a protection order restraining him from being around the current passenger of the car. He was issued summons from driving under restraint, driving without proof of insurance, and driving with expired registration.

Wednesday, Dec. 8

7:42 a.m. Someone reported a man passing a school bus in his car while it was loading children at the intersection of Colorado Highway 184 and Road 34.7. A sergeant attempted to contact the man.
