Theater Ensemble Arts will present Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” beginning Thursday at Lions Wilderness Amphitheater, 5800 College Blvd.
The play tells the story of four youths who chase their passions into the forests just outside Athens and a plot to sow discord is brewing between the Fairy King Oberon and the impish pixie Puck. Complicating the story even further is a well-meaning but clumsy troupe of would-be performers, one of which ends up transformed into a donkey.
Performances will be offered at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Aug. 19, 20 and 21, with a special free performance at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 students and seniors.
Wines of the San Juan will serve Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The production is supported in part by Connie Gotsch Arts Foundation.
