The Journal (April 28) quoted district attorney Will Furse thusly: “I won’t enforce a law that is unconstitutional.”
Please ask Furse to clarify his remark. Former Sheriff Spruell lost credibility with many of us when he refused to enforce extant laws that he felt were unconstitutional. Is that what Furse means?
The DA of all people should realize that constitutionality is determined by either Colorado’s or the U.S. Supreme Court, not local officials. I look forward to Furse’s reply.
