One person was killed and another injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Colorado Highway 145 northeast of Dolores, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The highway has been reopened, according to Colorado Department of Transportation.
The crash about 10:30 a.m. at mile marker 27 involved two motorcyclists and a pickup hauling a trailer, said Master Trooper Gary Cutler.
One of the motorcyclists died as a result of the crash, and the other was injured. The injured man was taken by ambulance to Southwest Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Dolores Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
The EMT crew administered emergency medical care, including CPR, to the victim with severe trauma, said Chief Mike Zion, but the man died from his injuries. A rescue helicopter had been called in to transport the man, but it was called off after he died.
No other information was immediately available about the cause of the crash or identities of those involved.
The highway was closed Thursday morning and reopened at 3 p.m.
This is a developing story. Updates will be made when more information becomes available.
