Harvest Food Hub & Kitchen’s grand opening to cap off food summit

San Juan College Harvest Food Hub & Kitchen, at 310 W. Animas St., will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. July 16.

Guests may purchase specialty items from the new walk-in Harvest Market retail store and tour the 4,813-square-foot facility. After the ribbon cutting, live music, food trucks and informational booths will be available.

The Harvest Food Hub & Kitchen is a member of the Buy Fresh Buy Local Northwest New Mexico Chapter, which is sponsoring a weeklong local food summit before the grand opening. The summit will feature a food cook-off, local food trucks and educational presentations.

Within the facility will be the Harvest Kitchen, a commercial kitchen incubator and retail outlet that will support new food entrepreneurs and will offer classes.

Harvest Market is open from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to Friday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
