Cortez City Council this week moved to change its COVID-19 policies for all city buildings.
Employees and visitors are no longer required to wear a mask in city buildings or other facilities.
Temperature checks will also be discontinued.
The city’s news release stated that those who still wish to wear a mask are welcome to do so.
Cortez Municipal Airport, still under Transportation Security Administration regulations, will still require mask-wearing until at least September 13.
Councilmember Robert Dobry proposed the motion in light of the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
The motion passed unanimously.
