Produce heaven: Harvest Fest here

Saturday, Oct. 5, is your chance to get out and visit the second annual Dolores Harvest Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This will be an opportunity for everybody to buy the local Farmers Market produce from around Montezuma County. There will be live music with the Porchlights and BeesKnees starting at noon with kids' games, free Galloping Goose rides, vendors, food booths and more fun for the whole family in Flanders Park in Dolores. Sponsored by the town of Dolores and the Dolores Chamber of Commerce, it's this Saturday you don't want to miss it!

Check out our Facebook site, and you will see the latest pictures from our Business After Hours at the Dolores River Campground, and membership meeting at Riverfront Bar and Grill. This month will be the final Business After Hours for 2013. We will all converge at the 2nd Chance Thrift Store from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, with a split-the-pot drawing and door prizes to go along with incredible food and refreshments that those sweet ladies always offer at the thrift store.

Our next monthly membership meeting will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, with food provided by the Depot and the meeting taking place in Town Hall.

Don't forget that the Visitor's Center starts the winter hours on Nov. 1. We will be open from noon to 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We will be closed Wednesdays and weekends.

Let's all welcome our newest chamber members. Redcliff Mountain Lodge owned by Mark Rodgers, Cobalt Mortgage with Lisa de Kramer and The Local Pages Phone Directory. There are two more members on the way - including the Hollywood.

This is also the Dolores High School homecoming weekend. The Homecoming Parade starts at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4. Dolores High School Football will battle the Center High School Vikings at 7 p.m. Friday night. Get your red and black on and prepare to make some noise!
