The Mancos Spring Hoedown came back to town Saturday night after a year off.
Hundreds of people showed up to the Mancos Opera House to line dance, listen to the Six Dollar String Band and Afrobeatniks, eat tacos from Four Dope Gringos, and take part in a live auction.
“The community really wanted this back again,” said Erin Kuhlman, assistant director of the School to Farm Project.
The annual event supports the Montezuma School to Farm Project, a nonprofit that offers hands-on gardening classes to schools throughout Montezuma County. This year marks the 10th anniversary for the nonprofit.
This was the last event at the opera house for a few months, as it will soon be undergoing restorations and construction. It will open once more in September for the Mancos Valley River Film Festival.
