The town of Dolores is seeking applicants to run for Town Board. Four seats open in the upcoming April 7 municipal election.
Nomination packets can be picked up at Town Hall, 420 Central Ave. Packets must be dropped off by Jan. 27. For more information call (970) 882-7720.
To be eligible, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, be registered to vote, be at least 18 years of age on April 7, have resided in Dolores town limits for at least 12 consecutive months as of April 7, obtain signatures from at least 10 registered voters in the town limits, returned your packet by Jan. 27, and follow the Fair Campaign Practices Act.
As an elected official, candidates will engage in a variety of disciplines. As part of their responsibilities, board members are legislators, decision makers, financiers, constructive critic, intergovernmental participant, public relations representative, and facilitator.
