El Pomar Trustees approved $98,000 to be distributed to 13 nonprofit organizations in the Southwest Colorado region at the Foundation’s May Trustees meeting.
Through the El Pomar’s grant making process, the following local organizations were awarded grants:
Denkai Animal Sanctuary – $1,000 for the direct care of equines.
Medicine Horse Center – therapeutic riding and equine rehabilitation – $5,000 in general operating support.
Montezuma County Historical Society, Inc. – $7,500 for museum renovations.
