The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. Friday in Western Colorado.
In Montezuma and La Plata counties, affected towns include Cortez, Dolores, Dove Creek, Mancos, Durango and Bayfield.
Temperatures are expected to fall to 28 to 32 degrees overnight Thursday, with lowest temperatures occurring around sunrise, the weather service said.
“Sensitive vegetation and swamp coolers will be impacted by sub-freezing temperatures,” the weather service said.
Friday and Saturday in Southwest Colorado, sunny skies are expected, with high temperatures in the lower to middle 60s and lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
Sunny skies are expected Sunday and Monday, with highs near 70.
In the north, cities affected by the freeze warning include Dinosaur, De Beque, New Castle, Mesa, Parachute, Rifle, Silt, Eagle, Edwards, Glenwood Springs and Carbondale.
