Friday, June 7

7:31 a.m. A deputy stopped a vehicle that had been traveling at 97 mph in a 65 mph zone in the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 160. After making the stop, the driver became argumentative and irate. When the deputy returned to his vehicle, the driver began screaming profanities, displaying his middle finger and honking his horn. He was after several warnings, and but he bonded out of the Montezuma County Detention Center shortly after being booked.

Tuesday, June 11

10:09 a.m. A deputy stopped a Chevrolet van on a report of a possible drunken driver in the 2000 block of U.S. Highway 160. The man driving the vehicle misidentified himself. After he properly identified himself, the deputy determined he had no warrants outstanding. The man did not have a valid license, and the incident was turned over to another deputy.

11:38 a.m. A deputy served an active warrant to a woman at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:17 p.m. A deputy served five outstanding warrants to a woman at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4 p.m. A deputy served an outstanding warrant to a woman at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

8:03 p.m. A deputy stopped a woman for suspicion of speeding in the 600 block of S. Washington St. The woman was issued a summons for driving with a revoked license.

Wednesday, June 12

9:52 a.m. A deputy issued an outstanding warrant to a man at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St. The man was left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

10:38 a.m. A deputy issued an outstanding warrant to a man at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St. The man was left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

2:39 p.m. A deputy was called to Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., about an assault among inmates while they were being transported. Two inmates declined to speak to the deputy, and both inmates were issued summons for third-degree assault. Both inmates were released to Montezuma County Detention Center staff members, so they could continue their court hearings.

4:07 p.m. A deputy issued a warrant for failure to comply to a male inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, June 13

6:41 a.m. A deputy was called to the 16900 block of U.S. Highway 491 about a possible stolen vehicle. The deputy located a Ford F-150 with Ohio license plates. The owner of a residence returned the car to Enterprise car rental in Cortez. No further action was taken.

9:03 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Detention Center to issue an outstanding warrant to a female inmate.

7:03 p.m. A deputy was called to the 12100 block of U.S. Highway 491 about a possible stolen truck. The deputy took information about a missing 2004 blue Dodge truck. Information about the missing vehicle was entered into a stolen vehicle database.

Friday, June 14

4:24 p.m. A deputy was called about a report of a drunken driver in the initial block of E. Mike Wash Road. A woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and for a consumption of alcohol by a minor. The woman was left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:47 p.m. A deputy was called to the 17900 block of County Road 27 in Dolores about a structure fire. The deputy arrived to garage fully engulfed in flames. The owner of the property said he believe rags used to stain a deck started the fire. The Dolores Fire Department arrived on scene and took about 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

Saturday, June 15

4:29 a.m. A deputy was called to the 6500 block of County Road 24 about a possible violation of a protection order. A man was located walking about a block away and was arrested two violations of a felony bond and two violations of a mandatory protection order. The man was left in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Sunday, June 16

11:04 p.m. A deputy was called to the 35400 block of County Road P.4 about a possible physical disturbance. A man using a wheelchair was upset by his wife, and had threatened to beat her. The man was issued a summons for third-degree assault and domestic violence. Doctors at Southwest Memorial Hospital said the man was not medically safe to be arrested. The woman said she preferred the man remain at home because she could easily escape him, and she never wanted the man to be arrested. She wanted to force him to get therapy.

Monday, June 17

11:50 a.m. A deputy was called to High Country Storage, 27518 U.S. Highway 160 about a report of a stolen vehicle. A deputy took a report about a trailer with North Carolina license plates. It was unknown how the trailer arrived on the property and if it was stolen.

1:16 p.m. A deputy was called to the 22000 block of County Road G about a traffic accident. The deputy discovered a Chevrolet Equinox with heavy damage in the middle of the road. The deputy made contact with the owner, who had a heavy smell of alcohol on his breath. The man was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital and the vehicle towed away to clear the road.

Tuesday, June 18

10:44 a.m. A deputy was called the Montezuma County Detention Center to issue an outstanding warrant to a male inmate.
