Enjoy an evening of traditional old west entertainment with Slim McWilliams, a national renowned cowboy poet, singer-songwriter and former ranch hand, 7 p.m., Saturday at Mancos State Park.
McWilliams started working as a ranch hand at age 14 and punched cows throughout the inter-mountain west. He learned most of the traditional songs he sings in bunk houses, around the campfires or in the cab of a pickup on the way to a rodeo.
Admission to the park is $7 per vehicle, so pack the family and friends into the SUV for this outdoor concert.
Mancos State Park is located about 5 miles north of the town of Mancos. For more information call the park at (970) 533-7065.
