Welcome to the club, William Barr, to the faux democracy you agreed to facilitate with your complicity.
Is this president making it hard to do your job? Perhaps you don’t remember the meticulous telling of your role as attorney general, your references to independence and transparency, the bloated, self-important summaries and interpretations that served as cover for this barely elected narcissist who runs our country, but we remember.
We, the teeming masses of the disgruntled majority, see the stolen power in artifice, the cabal of escalator wannabe’s vying for Mar-a-Lago respite, the chance of being famous by association to this spoiled, rotten-to-the core president.
For over three years, the job of living in a country where the rules of law and decency prevail has been impossible for all of us. And you have helped him do it; fully assisted the bully and the Senate to stay above the fray of their corrupt self-indulgence, to pretend that any shred of evidence was irrelevant and to degrade any noble intention put forth by our Constitution.
The Republicans have sold their souls to Trump, and Barr as top cop on the beat now complains of interference. The tragic irony is complete, and we all suffer the consequences of a leader we cannot trust or count on to act in our country’s interest.
Now you should resign.
