The Base Camp Food and Fuel store in Dolores has added fresh-baked pizza and wings to the menu.
A Hunt Brothers Pizza station was installed in December, said store manager Brian Roberts.
Customers can choose whole pies in original or thin crust, and add a variety of toppings. They are baked, and boxed up to go. Hunt Brothers also sells pizza by the slice and oven-baked chicken wings.
“It’s made fresh, and is a good value. As the word got out, we started making a lot of pizzas,” Roberts said.
Base Camp’s convenient location at 1110 Railroad Ave. near the Dolores High School helps. Staff make three or four pizzas per day for slices to keep up with the student lunch rush.
Any Hunt Brothers 12-inch pizza goes for $9.99, and all toppings are included at no extra charge. Each additional pizza is $8.99. There is a breakfast pizza, and the current special is the savory and spicy buffalo chicken pizza.
Store staff was trained to make the pizzas, which take 15-20 minutes to prepare and bake. Some vegetable toppings are sourced locally.
Hunt Brother’s Pizza is based in Nashville, Tennesseee, and has more than 7,800 locations in 30 states.
