Wolf Creek Pass closed Monday afternoon for vehicle recovery

CDOT says no estimated time for reopening

U.S. Highway 160 over Wolf Creek Pass closed Monday afternoon, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

CDOT said in a traffic alert the entire pass from mile markers 144 to 186 is shut down as a result of a “vehicle recovery.”

CDOT said there is no estimated time for the highway to reopen.

CDOT spokeswoman Lisa Schwantes did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday afternoon. No further information was available as of 6 p.m. Monday.

Earlier Monday, Red Mountain Pass between Silverton and Ouray closed for about three hours after a semitrailer rolled over.
