Anniversary: Jack and Alaine (Taylor) Hattaway

The children of Jack and Alaine (Taylor) Hattaway happily announce their parents’ 50th wedding anniversary.

Jack and Alaine were married on Dec. 6, 1948, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They have been blessed with eight children: Jack (Natalie), Kimberly (Justin), John (Erin), Jared (Heather), Rebecca (Keith), Justin, James and Jordan. They have 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

They have lived many places over the last 50 years: Utah, Texas, Colorado, Virginia and California. They celebrated their anniversary together where it all began. Their children are collecting stories and photographs to commemorate their golden anniversary.

They spent 20 years in Temple, Texas raising and graduating seven of their eight children from Temple High School. After exploring many areas they settled in Dolores, Colorado. Over the past 20 years, they graduated their last child from Montezuma-Cortez High School and had a long list of adventures.

Jack retired from a 35-year career in law enforcement so he could pursue second careers as a hay farmer and truck driver. Alaine stayed at home to raise the children and retired last year from driving a school bus in Cortez, Colorado.

When asked what made the last 50 years work they agreed love, patience, and wanting the other person to be happy.
