The Escalante Days and Nights Festival will take place Friday and Saturday in downtown Dolores.

There will be a chainsaw competition, arm wrestling contest, music festival, mountain bike races, street dance party, parade, cross-fit competition, softball tournament salsa contest, and tug-of-war for charity, plus dozens of vendors and many kid events.

The Dolores festival was expanded to two days, and will still feature the classic chain saw and arm wrestling competitions, mountain bike races, K9 Search and Rescue pancake fundraiser, kid bike event, Central Avenue parade, food and craft vendors, Galloping Goose rides, softball tournament, and more.

A big draw will be the Saturday music festival that takes place on the outdoor stages of the downtown Dolores River Brewery. Eight local bands will perform a variety of musical styles from 2 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $10.
