The city of Cortez has set up two areas for residents to dispose of their Christmas trees through Jan. 10.
They’re at the parking lot on the southeast corner of Elm and First streets and the BMX parking lot on the south side of Empire Street.
For residents who can’t go to one of the recycling stations, Public Works crews will pick up trees at residences Jan. 6-10. Place trees on the front-yard curb, but not in the street or alley.
Trees will be chipped and used as mulch at the south-side ballfields.
