With the holiday season in full swing, many of us are inspired to give – which is part of what the season is about.
I would, however, encourage everyone to refrain from donating to panhandlers around town.
Instead, give your time and money to local nonprofits that provide support and assistance to members of our community year-round.
These donations will have the greatest impact and will insure that those who truly need the help will get it.
