Three open seats; forum to meet candidates set for Oct. 2
Journal file<br><br>This November, six candidates are running for three open seats on the Dolores school board.

In November, six candidates will be running for three open seats on the Dolores School District Re-4A Board of Education.

Two of the candidates are set to replace departing board members Deanna Truelsen and Vangi McCoy, whose terms are both set to expire this November. The third open seat is currently held by Treasurer Lenetta Shull, who is seeking reelection.

Community members will have an opportunity to meet the candidates at a community forum Oct. 2.

Nominations to run for the school board were accepted throughout the month of August.

The candidates running are Lenetta Shull, Joe “Spark” Reed, Phil Kasper, Clay Tallmadge, Maegan Crowley, and Alex Prime.

A community forum will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Dolores Community Center, 400 Riverside Ave., according to Laurie Arnett, district secretary.
