Annual yoga festival, classes set to start in Telluride

Four-day event features presenters, music, classes

The 11th annual Telluride Yoga Festival will take place July 19-22.

The event features 40 world-renowned presenters, 140 yoga classes, conscious music, dynamic speakers, cooking and wellness classes, and outdoor offerings including Stand Up Board yoga and AiReal Yoga. There will be hiking and biking events, outdoor aerial yoga, plus meditation and social gatherings.

Classes are held in downtown Telluride at indoor and outdoor venues at the Telluride High School.

“We are here to make yoga accessible to everyone,” said festival Director Erika Henschel. “Telluride is the perfect place for a soulful, back-to-nature yoga festival.”

Classes include “Free Fallin: a Tom Petty Tribute Flow” with local favorite Gina Caputo; “Breaking Free of Conditioned Behavior and Old Patterns” with Tommy Rosen; and “Unlocking Sacred Power through the Warrior Goddesses of Transformation” with one of today’s most authentic spiritual teachers, Sally Kempton.

New this year is a community tent that will host free music and inspirational talks along with free outdoor yoga workshops. Additionally, the campus will feature more food vendors.

“Because this festival is really about celebrating yoga, in all of its many forms, along with communing with one another and nature, we want to encourage the entire community to take part in the festival,” said Henschel.

One-day or multiple day passes are still available. To purchase tickets and learn more about the festival, go to www.tellurideyogafestival.com
