Montezuma County plans meetings on Paths to Mesa Verde, Road BB closure

Four Montezuma County meetings will deal with the hot-button proposals to close County Road BB at U.S. Highway 491 and to start up the Paths to Mesa Verde Trail.

On Jan. 25, commissioners will hold a community meeting at 7 p.m. at the Pleasant View School, 15238 Road CC, to gather input on proposed changes to the U.S. 491 and Road BB intersection.On Jan. 30, a public hearing on the proposed changes to the U.S. 491/Road BB intersection will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the commissioner meeting room. Public and official comments will be submitted to the Colorado Department of Transportation.On Jan. 30, commissioners will host a quarterly community meeting at 7 p.m. at the Mancos Town Hall, 117 N. Main St. Commissioners will take questions and discuss issues relating to the county.On Jan. 31, a community meeting will be held on the proposed 17-mile Paths to Mesa Verde Trail from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cortez Recreation Center, 425 N. Roger Smith Ave. Possible trail locations, easements, and the formation of a trails friends group will be discussed.The Journal
