5:08 p.m.: A man was served with a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, May 4

6:28 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a break-in at Montezuma Valley Irrigation, 24055 County Road L.4. An estimated $200 of damage had been done to a door, but employees were unable to find anything missing. The case remains under investigation.

8:39 a.m.: A man was served with a warrant for auto parts theft at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:10 a.m.: A man was served with a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:11 p.m.: A man was arrested at Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating a protection order.

1:25 p.m.: A woman reported a theft in the 24000 block of County Road N. She said two gold rings with jewels, valued at $3,000 total, had been stolen. The responding deputy found no evidence of a break-in at the residence. The case remains under investigation.

Friday, May 5

11:24 a.m.: A man reported a theft in the 22000 block of County Road 23. He said he believed a former employee had stolen his wife’s passport, birth certificate and several expensive items of jewelery, valued at about $27,210 total, in October of 2016. The man said he reported the theft to Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the FBI when he first noticed the items missing, but he didn’t believe they had arrested the employee he suspected yet, so he had decided to contact the sheriff’s office. The case remains under investigation.

9:35 p.m.: A woman was served with a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Saturday, May 6

1:03 p.m.: A male juvenile was arrested near the intersection of County Roads 25 and S.6 on suspicion of assault after his step-father reported he had hit his older brother, also a juvenile, in the face with a baseball bat and had broken a window in the residence. The juvenile ran from responding deputies, and they were not able to find him until he was pulled over in a traffic stop later in the day. The other juvenile was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for a head injury.

1:23 p.m.: A man reported a gas theft in the 28000 block of County Road K.2. He said someone had pried open his gas cap and siphoned about a quarter tank of gas.
