Saturday, April 8

2:04 a.m.: A woman reported an incident of criminal mischief outside Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St. She claimed someone had slashed the passenger side tires on her pickup, which were valued at $250 each. The case remains under investigation.

2:03 p.m.: A man was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear.

4:35 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 100 block of South Elm Street on a warrant for failure to appear.

7:54 p.m.: A man was arrested at Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting. Store employees claimed he had attempted to steal gun cleaning items, cat food and dog food, valued at $117.12 total. A syringe was also found in his pocket.

9:32 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of East Seventh Street on suspicion of third-degree assault after his sister claimed he had kicked her in the back, thrown a chair at her, sprained her finger and broken her cell phone, valued at $99. The man reportedly resisted arrest and tried to fight the responding officers. One of them exposed him to a stun gun twice.

Sunday, April 9

12:15 a.m.: A man and woman were arrested in the 400 block of North Mildred Road on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of a protection order after they were pulled over for disregarding a stop sign. A syringe was found in the man’s pocket, and a bag containing methamphetamine and another containing several more needles were found in the vehicle.

9:48 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of East Third Street on a warrant for failure to appear.

1:31 p.m.: A man was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at City Market, 508 E. Main St. Store employees claimed he had eaten a bag of cashews and a bag of pistachios, valued at $18.07 total, without paying for them. The man claimed he had forgotten to pay.

5:45 p.m.: A man was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting. Store employees claimed he had tried to steal two energy drinks and two six-packs of alcohol, and had fled the scene when confronted by loss prevention associates.

8:20 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of South Chestnut Street on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, failure to present proof of insurance, driving with a canceled license and leaving the scene without providing information after striking an unattended vehicle.

10:37 p.m.: Two men were arrested in the 700 block of East Main Street, one on multiple warrants for failure to appear and on suspicion of false reporting and a violation of bond conditions, and the other on suspicion of possessing a weapon as a previous offender. They were pulled over after the driver of the car in which they were riding swerved and failed to signal a turn properly. About 46 hypodermic needles were found in the vehicle, including one that was loaded with methamphetamine, along with other drug paraphernalia, a rifle and a BB gun. The car’s driver was given a verbal warning for the traffic infractions.

Monday, April 10

12:07 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear in a felony case.

4:34 p.m.: A man was arrested at Cork ‘n’ Bottle, 443 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting. Store employees claimed he had taken two bottles of Bourbon, valued at $4.33.
