A man and woman on a motorcycle hit a coyote near the intersection of U.S. Highway 160 and Colorado Highway 151, east of Chimney Rock, shortly before 5 p.m.
The two were taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, said Capt. Adrian Driscoll with Colorado State Patrol.
The motorcycle was headed east, he said.
