The Baha’is of Montezuma County will host a public meeting on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m. in the community room at Cortez City Hall, to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Baha’u’llah, the prophet founder of the Baha’i World Faith.
The theme of the meeting will be a “Vision of Hope for a Troubled World” and a blueprint for renewing spirituality. Similar public meetings will be held across the United States and around the world, according to a news release from Sine Skaggs.
Baha’u’llah (1817-1892) advance the claim that His mission was to educate humanity for the long-awaited stage of global civilization that marks the era of worldwide peace and justice foretold in sacred scriptures since ancient times.
In the 200 years since the birth of Baha’u’llah, Baha’i houses of worship, which are open to all people, have been built on every continent of the world.
