Saturday, Sept. 2
11:09 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a stolen license plate in the 900 block of Garrison Drive. A man said he believed the plate from the back of his motorcycle had been stolen sometime in the past month. The case remains under investigation.
1:23 p.m.: A man was arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear on an out-of-county misdemeanor.
8:34 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 100 block of East First Street on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to signal as required and driving without a valid license. Several hypodermic needles, straws and a bag containing meth were found in her vehicle.
Sunday, Sept. 3
10:37 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 100 block of North Washington Street on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass and on an active warrant. The suspect reportedly matched the description of a man who was caught on surveillance video entering another man’s vehicle the night before.
3:44 p.m.: Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 1600 block of East MacArthur Avenue. A woman claimed someone had egged her pickup overnight, causing about $1,000 in paint damage. Police heard several other reports throughout the day of cars being egged, but no other incidents caused damage. The case remains under investigation.
6:24 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 300 block of South Maple Street on suspicion of driving under restraint after she was pulled over for parking on the wrong side of the street and driving with an overly dark window tint.
Monday, Sept. 4
12:31 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 10 block of South Maple Street on suspicion of driving under restraint and obstructing government operations after his ex-wife claimed he had run over her leg with his truck. When police approached the man, he reportedly ran away, causing about a 10-minute search of the surrounding area before they found him. He reportedly claimed he had told his ex-wife to leave the car after she hit him repeatedly, and had driven away when she tried to hit him again through the window. The woman reportedly went to the emergency room at Southwest Memorial Hospital for treatment, but hospital staff were unable to find any injury to her leg, though they said she did have a mark on her upper arm. Responding officers decided there was not enough evidence to pursue domestic violence charges against anyone.
4:30 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting and resisting arrest. Store employees claimed she had tried to steal a purse, a pair of boots, several meat products, two containers of body spray and a bottle of cologne, valued at $104.87. When responding officers attempted to question her, she reportedly refused to cooperate, and began “flailing around” and screaming when they tried to arrest her. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication, and reportedly continued to resist police officers and jail personnel throughout the booking process by kicking them and screaming.
8:06 p.m.: A man was arrested at City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating a protection order, violating bond conditions and resisting arrest. When an officer approached him for drinking alcohol in the park, he reportedly threw the bottle away from him and refused to cooperate with the officer’s request to pick it up. When the officer tried to arrest him, he reportedly tried to pull away and refused to put his hands behind his back, leading the officer to deploy a stun gun on his back. After being exposed to the stun gun, he reportedly continued to resist until the officer put pressure on a sensitive part of his jaw. The man was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication and the stun gun exposure.
11:12 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 2200 block of East Main Street on suspicion of disturbing the peace after a man claimed she had shouted profanity at him while he was in his vehicle with his friends, hit his vehicle with a liquor bottle, entered through the driver’s side door and touched his leg. Another man who was in the area also claimed the woman had hugged him without permission. The woman was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.
Tuesday, Sept. 5
6:54 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a vehicle break-in in the 800 block of L Way. A woman claimed someone had rummaged through her unlocked vehicle while she was out of town, and had taken a coin purse that contained about $20 in quarters. The case remains under investigation.
11:28 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons in the 100 block of West Third Street on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and failing to stop at a stop sign.
